Is it Worth Playing Sports For a Mediocre School

I know that colleges like to see ECs but my school isn't very good at sports so I was wondering if it would still look good for me to play 4 years of sports? I'm asking because they do take up a lot of time with practices and games and I'm wondering if I should just focus on academics instead?

It’s okay. Our tennis team is literally the single-worst team in the state, and to top it off, our state is one of the worst states in the country. I still have a lot of fun with it. :)

That’s not the point though, I know I’ll have fun I love playing sports! I want to know if colleges will care because I play for a mediocre school and if it will be more worth my time dedicating it to academics and other activities instead?
