Is it worth private school for interaction, UI/UX design, Human Computer Interaction?

Thanks again for the advice and sorry for late reply.

After taking long though into this whole ordeal of UI/UX I’ve come to my original conclusion which is I really have no idea what to “major” in when I transfer to a senior college/university. Over the past few weeks I’ve been doing enormous amounts of research on different majors involving my areas of interest which are design/creativity and I’m really undecided. I keep going through phases of one area then I might get tired of it and consider something else.

I’ve looked into other areas like architecture then found out I would have to take calculus and physics and would start as a freshmen with 5 years of school, no. Then I considered industrial design which seems interesting since I really enjoy sketching and problem solving plus is fairly hands on. Doing research and reddit it seems job prospects are steep because its really competitive and not so much in demand apparently. I also looked into interior design but still unsure and meh maybe, maybe not. I just keep questioning everything I am doing and asking myself if I actually enjoy this. Currently as a graphic/web design major I don’t really enjoy coding at all and I hate math.

I was having a conversation with family about transfering and mom tells me since she’s paying for my community college ( i receive very little to no finical aid). She does not want to me to stop and keep finishing to get my bachelors so that I can start my career going and have a decent job and not just working retail. I was considering taking a semester off after completing CC because I was so undecided and instead work and figure things out. Not to mention since paying out of pocket my biggest fear is going to a school finding out I don’t enjoy the program I chose would be a waste of money. So I’m told this coming September fall 2018 I must be in a school…and I absolutely would love to I just wish I knew what I wanted to focus on. And so far I have not applied to any schools yet.

any advice?

Have you met with the Transfer Advisor at your CC? Go do that. That person should have some ideas for you.

You also should stop by the career center at your CC and look into internship opportunities for the summer/fall. Your mom might be more amenable to your taking time off from studies if you are getting paid for doing some of your career exploration.
