I think it's worth it to take the SATII's twice, dd's GC recommends it

I asked about the essay grade because if that's decent (and it was), you may have a good shot at improving the MC section. My son is working on that for December.

no you aren't. You are applying Early Decision to Babson College and even wherever the heck you do apply with an intended major in business your 590 verbal moving to a 600 is not going to matter. 10 points is the difference of a few questions (like 1-3). Adcoms aren't going to accept someone just because their SAT score was 10 points higher. There is no reason you should take it. Also why are you applying to George Washingon University's business school. GW's business school is not that well regarded we all know that GW is for IR or Political Science and not for business. You are making a move that you might want to reconsider. I would change that Early Decision.

Do you think I would have gotten in Babson ED?

you will get in anyway. It isn't that selective to begin with. However, I think with the way your list looks you can get into the SUNY's and Bentley along with Babson but Penn State's business program along with all the other schools are reaches to slight reaches.

so you have 4 nice schools to pick from.

I hope you're kidding Dunkaroo, because for someone who is criticizing another person for their intelligence, you have a curious inability to put together a coherent sentence.

Oh, by the way, it's really none of your business where FlyA applies.

and, you posted this elsewhere, which led me to believe you are either lying, joking around, or you have serious problems:

"Why is it that such a large portion of College Confidential is filled with people aspiring to only go to the top schools? I believe this talk about only the best institutions of higher learning is what causes some people to lurk rather then post. They may not feel comfortable discussing their college options or potential schools for the fear that the academic superpowers that post on this board like it is only for them would go on the attack.

I see posts with people asking if suicide is the best option because they only scored a 1000 on the SAT. Hmmm... could that statement be the consequence of having so many high achieveing people with perfect SAT scores and nothing less then straight A's."

Because you sounded completely coherent and reasonable there.

And FlyA, my friend got into GW with a 1260, you definitely have a shot if you're interested in the school and you are strong in everything else. Good luck to you, your list looks fine.

Pebbles we need to look at this situation as a whole. Don't mind my last post I was just fed up with this compulsively psychotic user that needs reassurance. You have to remember your friend got in with a 1260. Good for him/her. What was their gpa? class rank? curriculum? extracurricular activities? strength of school etc... Pebbles I believe your comments are completely reasonable and appropriate. However, as I had told another poster on this very thread I believe that you should not comment on these posts without having significant background knowledge of the origins of this very situation. Would you know that this user has obliterated this very meesage board with thousands upon thousands of posts under the usernames Hollaratme among various other aliases.

I was one of the people who argued with him this summer to bring down his list. I can tell him that his list defientely looks reasonable now. However, given his statistics respective to the way he presents them here I wouldn't say he has a great chance at all the schools. If I had to guess I would say he is definetely into Babson, Bentley, both SUNY's, BU's General Studies program and maybe one more place.

That is fine having 7/8 schools to pick from because he was applying to Rutgers and probably already got in.

Who are you talking about. I have been on this board for a week. Dunkaroo you are mistaken.

i'm definitely intimidated by the superachieving great stats of a lot of the people here. it's definitely put a damper on my self-esteem, but honestly, in a way, that's good... gives me a reality check. so i'm agreeing w/ dunkaroo in the sense that i've held off from posting for awhile because of the intimidation factor... anyway, FlyA, good luck with everything. As long as you've done your research and put your all into your apps, don't worry too much about your SATs. Take them again if studying will improve them somewhat significantly (and if you will study). I improved on everything second time around.. everything being Is AND IIs

I received a 630 Writing, but my writing skills are actually pretty good, I just second guessed myself a lot on the essay (34 on Eng ACT, 740 on Verbal SATI)...do youthink I shoudl retake in Jan?

werd, if your problem was the essay then just practice writing them a lot.. my problem was that my essay was too generic. a short read of the barrons writing IIC helped a lot for the essay... if your problem was MC just keep practicing.. but i'd def try to take it again if you start to see improvements in your practice tests

FlyA we are surely not mistaken. Maybe your sick obsession has gone into the "It wasn't me" mode. Stop being dumb and trying to make yourself look like the moron. You are not helping yourself out. Like I said you wasted some ever so crucial time that could have been used to bolster your stats for college admissions purposes. Instead you argue the whole entire summer and say you will hit a 1300 come the fall. What happens your scores move up a measely 10 points. You really studied didn't you or maybe you just maxed out. I think the latter of the two is correct. Anyway good luck and stop posting your obsession is reaching a sickening point. Your SAT II's aren't great either. Youd din't clear 650 on any of them and didn't clear 600 on one of them. These are your stats because for wherever you apply early (Babson) they will not count unless you are deferred which you will know of before you take the test agian. Also if you don't study don't cheat yourself and try to raise the score. It hasn't happened since the summer what makes you think in a matter of a few weeks you can pull it out if you don't study.
