Is it worth sending my SAT scores?

I am about to send my test scores to Duke.

My ACT score is fine, at a 35 composite (36 if superscored). However, my SAT score is less than great at a 2140- I only took it once, and didn't bother to study.

Should I bother sending in my SAT score? Would it bring down my resume next to the ACT score, or is Duke interested in everything I have to share with them? (If it makes any difference, I am a NMSF.)

Thank you!

I was very similar to you: 35 act, 2200 sat… I sent both but to save yourself 10 bucks you would be fine in just sending your act scores

Please verify the following, but I believe Duke requires either SATs or ACTs, but not both. Therefore, wouldn’t it make sense to submit ACTs only?

Yes, it’s true that they only require one or the other. I am just not sure if providing as much information as possible would be more advantageous than providing only what looked “best”, or what.

Toptier that’s correct.

OP, send just your ACT score and don’t think twice about it. A 35 >>>>> 2140.

And I don’t think your NMSF status will be tarnished just because you didn’t send in your SAT score…I’m pretty sure that’s something that adcoms can verify easily (I think) if they wanted to. For the purposes of admissions, I wouldn’t waste the extra $$ just to send an SAT score that’s clearly inferior to your ACT score.

Thank you so much, everybody!
