Is it worth taking my SATs again?

I got like a 1400 on my SATs when I took them in HS. Not so great. I have gone to college gotten almost straight A's and have not been in HS for two years. I have taken some time off school and will take one more year off school to save and stuff. When I apply to NYU for either Fall 2013 or Spring 2014 I would not have been in high school by then for about 4-5 yrs. Should I retake my SATs? If the rest of my HS grades were good I wouldnt bother but they werent. I wasnt a motivated student until college, I cared so little about school back then I really dont even know what my GPA was, and I took no AP classes. I had many EC's however. I know no matter how long you have not been in school they will still look at your HS grades so I am wondering if its worth it. Like I said I got really good grades in college and Ive since done some really good things in the community outside of school but idk how they will feel with a horrible horrible HS record vs. a really good college record. I figure maybe my SAT grades my balance things out a bit if I got a better score?

No. I don’t even think you send them in after you earn a minimum number of college credits. I didn’t send in my SAT scores and got in. Of course, it has been quite awhile since I last took the SAT’s. old man voice When I took the SAT’s 1400 was a perfect score.

They come printed on the bottom of my HS transcript…

No, if you’ve been out of high school for 4-5 years upon applying your SAT scores won’t aid you in showing that you’re mature and ready for college. That being said, if you have a free Saturday morning…there’s always the pride factor.

If my SATs wont matter…does that mean my HS transcript wont either?

1400/2400? Or 1400/1600?

1400/2400
standardized tests are a weakness…
I actually would have done much better if it werent for the math…
I got something in the 300s for math

There would have to be some extremely mitigating circumstances for your score for you to get accepted to NYU with that.

Even after being out of HS for 4-5 yrs and a GPA between a 3.8-4.0? Along with excellent EC’s?
Ive heard of inspirational transfer stories of bad HS students turning there life around in college…and getting accepting into NYU.
Pretty frequently actually on the transfer forum…

hellodocks, or anyone else…

So I have just found out I atually do not need to sumbit my SATs because once you are in college more than one full time year they do not require you submit them. HOWEVER as I said…they come printed on the bottom of my HS transcript. If theres nothing I can do to remove them from my transcript NYU will see my SATs. I know they say they are not required but I cant help to think if its there they’ll look at them anyways.
