Is it worth taking the ACT again, or should I stick to the SAT?

I took the ACT plus writing with absolutely no studying or prep. That being said, I didn't really expect a high score - I just took it because it was free and I wanted to see what it was like compared to the SAT.

There were a lot of distractions that day, especially in the last three sections of the test. My focus level is crap anyway, so that combined with everything else didn't lead to good results for me. Anyway, here are my scores:

COMPOSITE: 28

ENGLISH: 34 (12 essay, 35 combined)

MATH: 23

READING: 32

SCIENCE: 24

I think I could have done a lot better on both reading and math. I'm very interested in science, but I despised the section for some reason.

I'm for sure retaking the SAT (got a 2080 and I know I could better). I'm a lot more comfortable with both the format of the SAT and its question style, but I'm starting to wonder if studying for the ACT and retaking it would be a good option. Any opinions?

EDIT: I should add that I'm going for a technical major, so those English/reading scores don't do much for me.

Yes. You seem to do well on the SAT, and your Math score isn’t up to par with that.

Take the SAT first, and if you do really well on it, there’s no point in taking the ACT again.
