Is it worth taking the SAT one more time?

I've taken the SAT twice. My best scores are:
Critical Reading: 720
Math: 650
Writing: 790
= 2 1 6 0
Math has always been my Achilles heel. Is it worth taking the SAT another time to try to improve these scores or should I give the ACT a try?

What colleges are you looking at? Did you improve much the 2nd time you took it?

Im interested in small liberal arts colleges, namely Davidson, Washington and Lee, Wake Forest. I may also apply to one Ivy and a bigger public school, like UVA.

My SAT scores went down the second time, with the exception of Writing.

Speaking honestly–how thorough was your preparation? If you studied diligently and effectively, then your current score might be a feasible max. If not, well…

Have you taken the ACT? if not you should do some practice tests to see how you do.

I think you would have a better chance at all of those schools you named if your CR + M was over 1400 on the SAT. I won’t hurt to try it one more time in October, but do all the math problem you can between now and then.
