I'm an international student from China majoring Industrial Engineering Honors program at Purdue. I'm a sophomore and my GPA is 3.74. My first year experience was very negative, got an annoying roommate, who usually go back to our room at 2 AM, drunk. Now I move to a single room, kinda quiet. But I really have hard time making friends, nearly all my classes taken are like 200 people class, people have their own small social circles. I just feel like it is hard to get into.
When I first get to this school, I can't help thinking of transferring. I would like to study at a college that has strong academic drive with a social community that is easy for me, a chinese, to get into, which is something that I didn't find at Purdue. But one thing is I didn't take SAT or ACT when I applied for Purdue. And, therefore, I will need to take a SAT test if I want to transfer to a high-ranked school, which is gonna be complicated and time consuming.
My questions are:
(1)Is it worth that I go through all of those hassle of transferring(take a SAT test) to change to a new univerisity?(I still wnat to be in a top engineering school, so it may be risky too.)
(2)I think UC Berkeley looks good for me, but I don't know the univerisity well, could some of you who know the school well tell me is the school good for me and do I have a good chance of making there.

Sorry that my questions are a little bit of long, hope you guys could help me!

(also, I posted similar thread at college admissions forum but I did not get the information that I want to know, I guess I did not describe my situation well or maybe it is because I posted it on a wrong forum. Anyways, Just clarify that I'm posting a new thread now is not because I don't respect the people who answered my questions in the previous thread, again, please give me any advice you could give me, I really appreciate that.)
