I got into the school and so far really like it but would a visit to UCLA solidify my decision to come here? Did your visits to UCLA impact your outlook on UCLA? I live really far from Cali and would need to buy a plane ticket for my parents and myself which could easily cost 1500+ dollars. Is it really worth it?

if its 1500 plus, not worth it.
i was leaning toward Berkeley until i visited UCLA, and its an amazing experience just visiting. absolutely changed my mind.

We can tell you’re not from here because you use “Cali”
don’t call it that when you’re here ^-^

LOL, what do you guys call it, California…Cal…? So yeah, back to my original question, will my parents most likely be impressed by the general student population, campus feel and beauty, professors. If so, I think its worth the money even if I have to pay for it myself. I’m pretty dead set on UCLA, all I have to do is persuade my parents and make sure I really want to come here.

if you are dead set on coming then come with your parents when you come to school. by the way where are you from.

I’m from New York

Basically the visit is to persuade my parents. Do you think the visit will accomplish this task?

yea most likely.
it worked for me and my parents.

I think it should accomplish the task. it is a wonderful campus and los angeles is a pretty cool place to spend your college life. i’m guessing you have never been to la.

The campus the the smallest of the UCs but offers wonderful cathedral like buildings which is really cool!

The campus is busy with students and people. You will often see people playing ultimate frisby!

I went to UCLA to pick up my cousin, and wow, the campus is small, but it is so full of life.

It will DEF persuade your parents!

If you do visit, make sure you bring your parents on a nice, sunny day. Everything - aesthetics, mood, etc - is 10x worse on an overcast/rainy day.

i love rainy days!!! lol. especially ones spent at UCLA.

Definitely visit. It should make them agree with you. Maybe make it a few day trip and see a few more sites while you’re in the state to make it worth your money?

the people here are really friendly, and no matter how much of a ****** you are, we are always nice to the parents and the visiting ppl. for example, me and my buds were hungover as hell last friday, but some mom asked for directions to Broad when we were headed for math and sciences, despite of our SPLITTING headache, we walked the mom and the daughter to Broad, while answering her questions along the way.

PS not trying to sound like a pedophile, but the daughter was pretty hot…totally top sorority house potential.

you can visit, yes, but its not necessary. theres nothing wrong with ucla’s campus…nothing odd, strange, etc so its not a big deal if you submit your sir without checking it out. i know some colleges can have a strange feel to them, but IMO ucla is fine for everyone.

came with my mom from maryland. made a huge impact on my decision to come here.
