When i visited Ithaca it felt very artsy to me. Is this how it really is, and is it because of the lack of sports?

The city of Ithaca has an "artsy" vibe, but the college doesn't have too much. IC has top drama and music schools, so maybe you feel that there are more arts there than at some other schools.

A lack of sports at Ithaca? Football, basketball, field hockey, gymnastics, crew, baseball, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis, wrestling? Huge new fitness center? Majors in athletic training, phys ed, recreational management, sport studies, and sport management?

There is no lack of sports at Ithaca!

Yeah I agree with pageturner, the college itself is not really artsy at all. Sports are a pretty big deal there, there are always people playing some sport outside.
If you aren't at Park you probably won't even see any of the "artsy" people.

i think OP is Park, btw.

Ithaca as a city is rather artsy.
And, there is not really a lack of sports. There is no big-time (i.e. D1) sports, but there is no lack of sport.

If you're looking for D1, Cornell is just a few minutes away.
