<p>I’m not really sure what you’re asking, but I’ve registered for class on mine before. I also use it to check my email/read news during slow parts of lecture.</p>
<p>I don’t really think it’s that helpful (for anything). Usually I only carry my itouch for internet access, but the wi-fi at ucla is very slow at times, so not that helpful. I guess you can use it to listen to music and stuff, but it’s not that helpful - academic wise.</p>
<p>Depends on what you mean by “helpful.” It’s a nice device for people who want to stay connected in and around classes and for people into listening to music and watching videos.</p>
<p>One note though: wait for the Zune HD to come out, especially if you’re running Windows. The hardware is superior (NVIDIA Tegra!), the software appears to be slick, and it’s rumored to be cheaper.</p>

<p>It’s useful to help you NOT pay attention in class. You’ll be chatting with your friends, checking your email, and browsing random websites. </p>

<p>w.t.f.? i thought that in all classes, if not most, all electronic devices are prohibited except maybe a calculator, but i guess you can also store equations n stuff on a calculator. :rolleyes:</p>

<p>i touch is alright, but to get full functionality, you need to be in a wifi zone (aka UCLA WLAN). It’s useful but id recommend the iphone, since it works everywhere with 3G (which is faster than I expected)</p>

<p>you can get wifi in most places, i actually find it hard to get signal for my iphone in a lot of the rooms plus you do have to pay 30 bucks a month to use 3G 
my ipod touch is pretty much used for just music and games during boring lectures :D</p>
