Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a conundrum. A couple of the schools I'm applying to (MIT, Columbia SEAS, Princeton engineering) require a science subject test. I actually just took physics this past saturday, but I'm pretty sure I bombed it so I'll most likely be cancelling my score and retaking it in January. Will it be too late? I know that officially, all of these colleges take January scores. But I can't help but think that taking it in January will put me at a disadvantage, since these scores don't come in until mid-February, and surely by that time they'll already have started reviewing apps and making decisions.

I think if you choose to take the SAT in January, you have to indicate which colleges you’d like to send your scores to before you actually take it. Sending your scores after you receive them will be too late. I’m not sure though, so double check.

On a side note, I wouldn’t cancel your Physics score if I were you, as I felt like I bombed Physics too, but was pleasantly surprised with a 760.

haha that is encouraging to hear. maybe i’ll just keep the score and if it’s bad i’ll retake it and use score choice when i can
