seems like an odd way of looking at things…“do i have to study tech if i want to run a tech company?”??? in another thread somebody asked about the hardest/easiest majors, and generally eng is considered to be hard. bet if you ask penn eng students, most will say they aren’t interested in getting locked into strictly engineering work, either - we want management jobs, and we chose penn because of this “crosstraining”. doesn’t make sense to work your ass off for an eng degree if you don’t need it to function at a high level in a technically based company. sure, you can run a consumer goods company doing products sold on basis of advertising. but for the tech industry - which sells products based on performance - i’m betting you probably need more than just a little intro to the subject.
