i believe "good" is an understatement

well they're #1 for BME. that has to mean something haha.

Bio Medical Engineering is Premed for a lot of people at JHU.

what about mech/aerospace engineering?

The mechanical/aero program at Hopkins is quite strong as well, although there is technically no aerospace major you can do an aerospace concentration through the mechE department.

The department is rather small, so everyone knows everyone quite well and many of the profs are on a first name basis with literally all of the students. In my opinion the course options are great, especially for the aeropace concentration (one of the aerospace courses is taught via video-comm with a professor working in private industry so you get a real hands on feel for what it means to work in the aerospace industry) The professors are in my opinion the best teaching faculty in the engineering school, I have yet to have even an average professor in the department.

There is a lot I could talk about with the department, so if you ahve any specific questions please let me know.

What about molecular and cellular biology?

So i wanna be a lawer, how well respected is JHU for "pre-law?" i hear its very prestigious, but only 4 people got into harvard law from JHU.

i believe 100% pre law get into law school. as for only 4% get into harvard law, exactly how many from other schools can get in there??

ANYONE KNOW ABOUT MOLECULAR AND CELLULAR BIOLOGY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is it a good program?

Just a recommendation, but you all might want to ask your questions about specific academic departments on the Hopkins message boards -- http://messageboard.chatuniversity.com/jhuboard/ -- isn't it smarter to go directly to the source to learn about specific programs???

Or you can always rely on confidential sources who don't attend Hopkins. Your choice. (((wink wink)))

How are JHU's Econ. or Biz programs? Is IR an easy major at JHU? What kind of career can you pursue with an IR major?

International diplomacy
working for the U.N. stuff like that

how do you join the premed program in Johns Hopkins? any links I can go to?

you don't have to "join"...i THINk you just tell your academic advisor, and you just need to fulfill the premed requirements......okay, so wait for a student who's already AT jhu to answer this.

To be considered pre-med at Hopkins, you will need to be in contact with the Office of Preprofessional Advising at Hopkins -- specifically a PreHealth advisor. They will have introductory meetings during Freshman Orientation and explain the process of starting out as a pre-med and going through the various stages over your four years.

There website which is currently being updated can be found here:

OK, so I can't stand how this thread has not died. I posted a similar message prior to CC's server issues on the post of "What not to like about JHU..." -- but maybe it is time someone starts a "What to like about JHU thread."

Less negativity -- let's praise the great stuff about Hopkins. I'll start....
