Look, undergraduate matters. You are right. But only to a certain extent. It plays a role in in initial employment but once you have worked X number of years, your experience will matter much more to your next employer than your distant past ugrad prestige. Besides, you can do very well in your state U and transfer out. Undergrad prestige can also be covered, as you pointed out, by getting into a better grad school.

Don't lose hope. I am a rising senior and also regret having messed up in school. Looking back, I realized much of my problems stemmed from spending too much time worrying and regretting rather than actually working. Besides, if you need more encouragement, I know of one person who got a 3.2, 3.3, 3.9, and 4.0 and got into Princeton, which is as selective as a college gets.

While Transferring is always an good option,It isn't attractive at all...Making new friend, learning new campus, catching up...etc. is a pain.

I mean if wanted to stay in my state, I would just go to its university.
But I want to move to California or maybe Europe and maybe a for Ph.D I want to go somewhere somewhat heard of in hopefully both.

I wish I could eliminate Freshmen Year...That could raise my GPA from a low 3 to a high 3.
Is there a way to drop a class from your record...if that makes sense?

I have a similar problem but not as bad. I want o get into a prestigious school(top 20 or 10 would be amazing) but I'm international so my competition is greater. i don't have any national or international awards so I'm screwed there (I don't even know how to apply for them), my ECs within school were non-existent in sophomore year and minimal in freshman. In those two years I got 10 or 11 A's and 6 B's. I think my GPA atm is around 92% or 3.75. I'll have to volunteer this year 5 hours a week, 10 in summer, start two clubs and join tons, try to make it into student government for senior year, get 6s and 7s in full IB (didn't take pre so I'm nervous especially about the second[third for me] language), while planning for college.

some universities only takes sop.-senior scores. even a couple of the top schools/ivies do that.

I am just upset with myself

Night, I feel the same way man, Im utterly regretful of my past.

Yes but you are most likely a typical CCer....You regret you got a 3.9 GPA and got in Princeton, but not Brown.

dude? I have a 3.4...

Still Higher then mine.

Back to my last point. Is there a way to get a class off your record like in Spanish, I got a D. Like a retake or something? I suck at foreign language particularity Spanish because I don't want to learn it,but it is the only option.

I mean while I sometimes get bad grades, they are only for quarters. Like I got a "D" On my Geometry final test because there was a backside I didn't see.... But I got a B+ for the year. Or I got a C 2 quarter in Bio, but I got an A one quarter and on the final test giving me a B.

The thing is I KNOW I can do MUCH MUCH better in college because my problem is not doing homework because I can't organize my self on paper, only on a computer or Smartphone because I lose papers and notebook, but I am obsessed with technology and don't lose it.

I mean if I can get organized and turn it around this year,I could probably write a great essay on how I got organized.

Night, heres is what you have to do. Follow it, if you dont, youll regret it.
