Is legacy extra important at Stanford?

Hi,

I'm a Sophomore, so i won't be applying any time soon, but I was wondering if legacy was especially important at Stanford? I would be the fourth generation in my family if I attended Stanford, putting grades and extra curriculars aside, would this be an advantage?

Thanks

Yea its an advantage, I think especially if its something like fourth generation. Ive heard at Stanford, its less so than at other colleges, but still its more than double the admit rate. but again, fourth generation is pretty awesome, so keep those grades up, etc

I’m not sure if you noticed the other threads, but a lot of the Legacy people got deferred. Legacy can give you the push, it may save you from outright rejection EA round, but in the end,you need solid academics and excellent essays.

Of course, 4th generation Legacy is pretty hardcore, but still, keep up your resume!

hey rolandic, I will probably meet you in real life someday. this is a weird feeling. What up, future classmate?

Haha, this is a weird feeling. What am I doing now? I’m tryingg to get myself back to doing HW and finishing college essays (even if I’m set on Stanford); basically I’m struggling to overcome the complacency and contentment!

I am by no means planning to not work my butt off. thank for the help!

haha oh man me too! can you not focus on anything? I literally have been working all day on a one hour assignment because i can no longer find motivation for doing schoolwork, and all I can think about is going to Stanford, lol
