Is legacy helpful for OOS kid?

My husband is a grad and was wondering if legacy is helpful if any of our kids choose to apply. I know at other schools legacy is huge -- have no clue about UW.

I can’t tell you how much being a legacy can help a student, though I do know it plays a role in the admission process. As you can see in the link, it is included in the “Nonacademic Qualifications” section at the bottom of the page. Every little thing helps :)

Helpful but not huge.

Good to know. We have a rising JR so we are starting to look around. Thanks for your help.

Being a legacy means you most likely have pressure to apply to UW, from one of the many passionate alumni.
