Is Marching Band better or worse for applying than a traditional sport?

I am considering applying to West Point, and have come to a time in the year where I have to pick an activity, I cannot keep both Marching Band and Baseball into my schedule, I need to pick and stay with one.
Which of the two would be better on a West Point application?
Thank you in advance.

(As to the duplicate, it was an accident)

I believe a better place to post your question is at the United State Service Academy Forum. This is a great site with all the information you could possible want about Service Academies and ROTC programs.

But, to answer your question, I would stick with the one that has the greatest leadership role.

You will get no special points for marching band toward your WCS (Whole Candidate Score). The academies heavily favor team sports participation. Over 90% of every incoming class at USMA comprises varsity lettered athletes. You can read my posts in this thread giving examples of how the academies weight HS activities.

If you absolutely can’t do both, drop band and try to at least letter if not become captain of your baseball team.
