This is a question from my friend; he doesn't have a CC account nor knows how to use this forum, so he told me to ask her for him.
(I already applied to few schools as Business major)

Based on what I've seen and what he told me,
he's good at math. Got A's in all math classes he took so far (it's only up to Calculus 2 though), and in general, he is an intelligent guy.

He's somewhat interested in Economics; he thinks that having a more math experience will enhance his opportunity in the future.

So instead of applying as a Bizecon/econ major, he's thinking about applying to a Mathecon major.

(Also, he wants to go to UCLA, but his GPA is too low for Bizecon/econ.)

He wants to know, in general, is Mathecon a good major in terms of post-graduate opportunities or is it better to major in just Economics? Is Mathecon a good major compare to related majors such as Economics/Busecon/Bus/etc.?
