SAT? I am only asking about the Verbal Reasoning and Writing part. :)

No, it's harder.

well, I was asking from the tricky point of view.....are the questions in the SAT style? Like how much English do they test? Is it just first year English or may be up to third year college English?

It's not testing english at all. It's also not testing comprehension.

What it's really testing is your ability to take the information presented, understand it, and then apply that understanding to a new situation.

The classic example I like to give is this:

The SAT or ACT will ask you what the main idea of the passage is.

The MCAT is going to ask you a question like:

If all of the following statements are true, which one would be most detrimental to the author's argument?

A: blah blah blah
B: yadda yadda yadda
C: whatever
D: forget it

This requires you to 1) be able to tell what the main idea of the passage is 2) what the argument the author is presenting 3) what evidence/support is the author giving for his argument and 4) how those will be affected by new information.

Oh, okay. But I wish MCAT wasn't computerized......if u miss it u get 0! I mean in my Eng. class I never got good scores in a Scantron exam no matter how much I know abt a book.....it's just I get confused btw two possible answer choices and being able to pick the best one!

anyway, thanks bigredmed for ur info!
by the way, do u think there's a correlation w/ the MCAT Verbal Score and SAT CR? (if by any chances?)

There is always correlation between standardized tests. If you're good at one, youre inherently good at them all simply by being a good "test taker". It may be that you're a fast reader, or that you have a knack for not getting distracted by wrong answers, or by utilizing good strategies like not wasting time on questions you find difficult.

I suspect that as you go further on, being a good test taker has a lot more to do with confidence than anything else though.

yeah, I guess I've to start thinking of ways of how to be good standardized test taker! I can ace most of my classes w/ perfect scores but when it comes to SAT or ACT......hmm....(lol!) I just don't know my real problem here! I just can't decide upon two answer choices and then again, I'm not a fast reader....
So, do u suggest me to take a course from Kaplan or Princeton and try to learn the test taking strategies?

yes. I don't know about TPR and what they offer, but Kaplan combines test taking strategies into their MCAT prep course.
