Is Michigan State University good for premed?

This is my top choice school and I am wondering if anybody knows if the advisors are any good?

The Lyman Briggs School of Natural Sciences is excellent. It's an residential Honors College at MSU.

Just to be clear, Lyman Briggs, the residential college for natural sciences at MSU is not the ideal program for sure pre-medical students. It is better for those going into research and maybe MSTP MD’s. Otherwise, stick with the normal courses. You learn just as much with less hassle. Briggs teaches you to be a scientist, Med School’s are interested in how well you do in the intro classes. Briggs has a tendency to make these courses harder. When it comes down to it, sure maybe the Brigg’s courses are more rigorous and you learn more but over a long period of time you will forget all that information you learnt in briggs and all that will be needed was the basics of each intro class.

I think the OP has already decided what to do since the thread is 2 1/2 years old.

OP went to MSU. He is still trying to figure out how to get into med school. I think he just finished his junior year.
