My kid got into Master’s programme. He is already a Bachelor’s from another Ive League. So, he is not sure if doing Master’s programme would be worth the cost and effort. Are there job prospects that varies based on your Master versus Bachelor’s degree (in the same field) ? Any guidance or your perspective will be great.
What field?
Computer Science
in that field, an MS may help if he will be studying a particular CS specialty.
First of all congratulations to your son on being accepted! That’s wonderful news.
You would need to confirm this but I heard that grad studies at Princeton are fully funded so I am not sure what the downside would be of pursuing it, other than a couple years of lost income in the field. Over the course of an entire career, it’s really not very significant.
Typically, Masters degree programs are cash cows for top universities attracting many kids (particularly internationals) who want to attach an Ivy League type name to their resume). However, if Princeton’s is fully funded as Cantiger says then I’d say go for it.
