Is my app competitve for UVA next year?

<p>I am rising senior from Virginia (NOVA):</p>

<p>projected UW: 3.57
projected W: 4.0-4.1
* note about GPA: my grades have had a significant upward trend: W GPA's- 9th: 3.8 10th: 4.2 (w/ 2 ap's) 11th: 4.47 (with 4 ap's)</p>

<h1>of Ap's: 6 (signed up for 5 more senior year), this is one of the more challenging courses</h1>

<p>Grades is APs: AP World-A, AP Comp Sci- B+, AP US-A, AP Lang-A, AP Chem-B, Stat-A
SAT: 2020 super scored (670 CR, 720 M)
SAT US History: 780
SAT Math Level 2: 770
SAT Biology: 780
Significant EC's + Awards:
Founder and President of the History Honor Society
Member of NHS, Math Honor Society, and Science Honor Society
3rd Place Regional Science Fair
Internship with NASA (VASTS program)
2 month research in India in biotechnology (i will conduct my studies this summer and will apply for siemens)
Lots of hours community service at hospital</p>

<p>only time will tell. I’ve seen many people both admitted and waitlisted with your stats. I think your ECs will get you in no problem though.</p>

<p>seems a little low, but you should give it a try anyway.</p>

<p>If you’re OOS, I would encourage you to retake the SAT I. (Your subject test scores are great, so you most likely can pull your score up.) This might help offset your GPA somewhat. Good luck!</p>

<p>So lucky our instate. My parents were going to buy a house in UVA just for all the people in my family to have a better shot into the school… To bad you have to actually live there lol. But anyways I would say you have a good shot at UVA.</p>

<p>haha that soo true. Virginia is a pretty boring place to live. so guys, I was wondering if anyone here could recommend something else I can add to the ECs?? are there any awards or something that you guys think will help my app?</p>

<p>Borderline at this point. Padding your extracurriculars at this stage won’t make a difference.</p>

<p>Yes you are competitive. I would not focus on the UW GPA you are obviously taking honors and AP classes. Retake the SAT or try the ACT although your current score would not exclude you. Nothing is a guarantee when you are considering schools like UVA.</p>

<p>Your EC’s look pretty good. My advice is instead of trying to boost your EC’s more, try to improve your SAT score. A 2020 super scored is a bit low. However, your definitely competitive seeing as your instate.</p>

<p>update: I just got a mail of my schedule and have an option of changing it by the end of the week.</p>

<p>the first is much more rigorous, but the second one is the one i am more interested in? i only chose the 1st list cause my parents forced me</p>

<p>I am instate with similar stats but much higher SAT and I was rejected this year. Maybe next year will be less competitive though.</p>

<p>Oldtown, on the Notre Dame thread you say you’re a parent. Which is it? And are you saying that you got into ND honors and William and Mary but not U-Va in state? Seems very odd.</p>

<p>dropping AP Physics and Engineering Physics 2? Those were some of my favorite classes this year.</p>
