I’m a Highschool senior(upcoming) looking to follow the pre-med path and Tulane has caught my eye, with it’s research on COVID-19. (I’m fascinated by epidemiology and have kept a close eye towards research on COVID-19) But I’m rather blind by it’s stats, I’ve seen all kinds of stats that have been accepted and rejected from reddit, and I’m hoping this forum would provide me some insight onto my application,

Tulane has become extremely competitive recently - acceptance rate this year was 11%. Your ACT is in the lower part of their mid 50% scores (31-33). On the other hand, based on their CDS, your GPA is at the higher end of their mid 50% scores.

So I would say that, while Tulane is a reach, you are definitely competitive.

Good luck!

If you can apply ED, it will be easier. The ED admission is a lot higher I think, but not sure what that acceptance rate is. My S got in ED with a 30 ACT. Had a great essay as well as “Why Tulane” response, and rigorous high school schedule but lower GPA than you. Interviewed locally with rep and also visited campus. If you can’t do ED at least apply EA. Last year they gave the EA applicants a chance to convert to ED2. One of my s’s friends did this after not getting in another school EA (that he thought he’d get into). He was accepted ED 2. Good luck! You certainly seem qualified.

If you are male, I think that helps you also.

If you want to apply for their merit aid you might need a higher test score, though.
