Is my college list okay? I am a rising senior!

@aspiringgirl has Oberlin given you and guidence about taxes? In the past scholarships above tuition and books and certain fees have been taxed at the parents rate, for low income families this meant little or no taxes, with the new tax laws for the 2018 school year the taxable portion of scholarships and stipends will be taxed at the rate set up for trusts and estates and will not factor in student or parent’s actual income. There is also a big debate as to if students can take the new promised $12k standard deduction or not. I’m very concerned how the new tax laws will effect students like you and I’d be very intersted in what the school has told you about this.
