I know the Common App says to keep it between 250-500 words, but I'm having a hard time doing so. My essay is 586 words long. It is two whole pages (double-spaced).

It would also be appreciated if someone wanted to read it and critique it (while cutting down on words, if possible).

Thanks.

I’ll read it, PM me! And unless it’s not cutoff on the final pdf it makes then it should be fine right?

The word limit is a guide, not a cut off. 586 is perfectly fine. Just make sure you’re concise.

Pm me if you need cc :)

pm me,I’ll read it.

I’ll read it and try to help!

I would be happy to take a look. I have a B.A. from Stanford and a J.D. from Harvard (and can verify for you). Since joining CC, I have provided essay comments on 22 drafts for 12 students. Getting from 586 to 500 should not be a problem - I recently worked with one student to cut from 700+ to 500. If you would like to get started, PM me!
