Is my course load too much?

Rising sophomore here, I’m starting to have second thoughts about the classes I’ve applied to for next year. Any thoughts?

AP Euro
AP Bio
Honors English 10
Honors Spanish 2
Reg Pre-Calc
Self-Study AP Psych

That is a good schedule, although you are the only one to know whether or not it is too much.

AP Biology is a challenging class, especially for a sophomore, so make sure you are well-prepared for that. AP Euro is no joke either, from what I’ve heard.

If your school offers honors for Pre-Calculus, then take it - you are two years ahead of the typical math sequence so Precalculus should be a breeze for you.

Why are you self-studying AP Psych? Most sophomores don’t take AP classes at all, and the few that do usually only take one, so three AP classes is kinda overkill. Don’t get me wrong - if you really really are interested in AP Psych, then go for it, but if you are just doing it for the credit, I would probably drop it unless you really feel you can handle it. What I would do is start your first quarter of school without AP Psych, that way you get a feel of the difficulty of your classes. Once you get a feel after two or three months for your classes, then you can judge whether or not you have the capability to take AP Psych.

Remember, it’s better to get two 5’s on all your AP tests then three 3’s or 4’s. :)

Thanks so much, Rob. That really helped me out!
My school does offer Honors Pre-Calc, and there are two teachers that alternate teaching it and the regular class. One of them is a serious sociopath, so I’m thinking if I get stuck with her, I’ll just transfer into Honors with the good teacher.
And that’s exactly what I was thinking of doing with AP Psych. I’ll just get a feel of everything first, and if I can fit it in, I’ll try to!
Thanks again, haha! :)
