Is my course work too challenging for Pre-med?

This is what I meant to write but I could not articulate as well as you could.

“Breaking the curve”? I have not heard this for quite a long time. I learned this phrase from my child many years ago when he was in HS. He enjoyed doing this very much at that time. For whatever the reason it may be (e.g., in a much bigger pond maybe?), after he entered the college, it seems he never imagined he would be the person who breaks the curve (if there is still such a thing in college.) What in his mind is something more “practical” as a premed: “how many standard deviation above the class average would give you an A in this class?” I forgot exactly what he told us at one time – It may be either one or 1.5 standard deviation above the class average. I do remember that he said just 10 points (out of 100 points) above the average is definitely not good enough to ensure any form of A.

As far as I know Art classes are extremely time consuming (S is Graphic Designer). Other than that my D. is pre-med with 2 minors and doing just fine. I have always warned her against taking any art classes. She took Paper Making class which was an art class and was busier with it than anticipated. So, no more art classes! Her minors are very interesting for her and one of them (Music) is very relaxing, she is not planning to drop them. Good luck.

“I saw that particularly with HS AP courses, where some students obviously with no interest in [insert science subject here] took the course to look “good” to colleges/BA/MD programs. They ended up hating people like me, who truly cared about the course and wanted to learn, because we tend to “break the curve” (Teachers aren’t allowed to award grades better than 100, so if you scored 95/100, she can’t add more than 5 pts to all the class).”

omg! lol. only 3 students out of 50 kids in AP Chemistry only recieved A’s, including me. I was hated by everyone for being one of the few that recieved good grades in AP Chem.

& Honestly, a Biophysics major may be hard, but, i think i could handle it!

one thing i was really worried about was the fact i had 18 credit hours in one semester. Is it a problem to have 18 Credits in one semester?
