is my essay topic to nonpersonal

i wrote about how countries and individuals care more about money than morals but nothing specific about me is it a bad essay topic

If your essay doesn’t inform the reader about you, then it isn’t fulfilling it’s purpose.

Agree. I say over and over, the college app essay is not like a hs paper for a class- it’s a personal statement, meant to reveal more about you than stats and the rest of the app can. So, what does your essay, as now written, reveal about you?

it reveals what i care about it just doesnt have any specific stories like other people do

And, that’s valid. But, taken to an extreme, say all it reveals about you is something you care about and your writing skills. Is it enough? They want kids who fit- and that’s a lot more than showing your intellectual beliefs. The popular “how x transformed me” essay allows many of one’s strengths to show, over the body of the piece. Can you insert yourself into this essay? Did you act on these beliefs? Promote a cause? etc.

Seniors have had years to hone the formula wherein you state a thesis, restate it, take a position and hint at how the esay will develop. That’s not a personal statement for a college admission review. If they love your essay, they may still ask, but what’s he/she like? How would this applicant fit here? How does he respond to challenges? And so on.

Now that I’ve read your essay, I’ll advise you to write on another topic, one that shows more about you. Your writing is good and you are clearly passionate about that topic, but it isn’t really what adcoms are looking for.
