Is my GPA gone?

Her is my situation I destroyed my freshman year I had average and below average classes and end up with a 2.67 that year.

Classes:
English 9
Earth Science
Art
PE
Spanish
Algebra 1
World History 1

I got these class because i came a month late to school (personal issues). I got a bad gpa because i was "Bored"

I ended up with only 2 As in Science and Math
I asked my counselor to give me a chance to prove my self after I realized what I have done to my GPA, so she gave me a chance and let me take all the classes I wanted to and I ended up with a 3.84 in these classes at the end of my sophomore year

Classes sophomore year

Pre-AP Biology
Pre-AP Chemistry
Pre-AP Algebra 2/Trig
Pre-AP Geometry
English
PE
AP world history

I only had a b in Geometry

I did some math and in an ideal world I would end up with a 3.6 at most. Next year i will have a very rigorous Junior year with 7 ap classes and a class at my local community college

Class Junior year:

AP Chem
AP BIO
AP ES
AP CS
AP Calc BC (I was given a chance to skip precalc)
AP USH
AP ENG
College physics at CC

My Questions are

Would a college over look my freshman year? or at least look at my good sci/math gpa

Would the college be impressed with my upward trend?

Any advice?

What colleges should i consider with these horrible stats.
I know that my course load will be hard but this is my only choice i need a somewhat rigorous course selection to justify my gpa and i know i need a really good SAT score.

I think this is something you would discuss in an interview. They will look at freshmen year, then compare it to your other two years and see that you really booked it and are now taking almost all APs and carry a pretty strong GPA. I really think that would be enough to prove you aren’t some slouch and that you really do care and yes, they probably would be pretty impressed.

The UCs only look at Sophomore+Junior year GPAs

An upward trend looks good to colleges and if you keep it up, you will many choices when it comes time to apply for college. Like @Spiral7, the California UC’s and Cal States only use your Sophomore/Junior year grades in their GPA calculation. They do see your freshman grades but will note the upward trend. You can also address your GPA in your essays. Hang in there, continue to do well, study for the SAT/ACT and keep up with your EC’s.

@Gumbymom I am not a resident of California does that hurt my chances of admission to the UC’s
