Is it too hard or pretty good for Junior Year? Thanks!
(As for how I did in Honors Chem last year, I got straight A’s except for the rare occasional B’s).
If you do the studying and homework that comes with these classes, you should be totally fine. Just make sure to read, ask questions, and keep repeating those two patterns.
I think it’s a fine schedule. 3 STEM APs can be a lot for anyone so just make sure you’re motivated and stay on top of all of your work. It’s a challenging schedule which is great, especially for junior year! Best of luck!
The only way to fairly answer that question would require knowing more about you, your study habits, your goals, what classes you’ve taken so far, your other activities/time commitments, what type of HS you are in, etc.
For some kids, your schedule would be impossibly difficult, but for others it might be a breeze.
Great schools look favorably on some of those kids who take the very most challenging schedules offered, and who excel in all of them.
As a junior, a schedule like that is not as uncommon (nationally) as you might think, but it very well might be uncommon for your particular state or high school.
I would choose EITHER AP Chem or AP Physics, not both. They’re very time-consuming and difficult. If you’re currently getting A’s in both without sacrificing sleep or other subjects, then fine, but it’s not recommended.
For the rest, you’re fine. Even without one of the two science Ap’s, it’s an extremely demanding schedule.
Remember that colleges don’t appreciate the “everything but the kitchen sink” approach to APs or, as Stanford officially put it “it’s not a game of who has the most Ap’s wins”. 8 AP’s over 4 years would satisfy any top college.
It is very much overkill. You should get rid of either World history or either physics or chem. Maybe even both. You shouldn’t try to extend yourself this much.
