Is my list fine?

2000 SAT (1330 M+V), Top 3% rank, VERY strong ECs (leadership)

Lehigh
Cornell
Harvard
Penn
Northwestern
SUNY Binghamton
SUNY Albany
UMich
Penn State
Columbia
Georgetown
Tufts
Duke
NYU

Surely I'm REACHING a lot, but is my list fine?

Maybe a little long, but thats personal preferance. It is a good list though, enough reaches and safeties, with a combo of private and public schools. Looks fine to me.

Outside of the length, it looks excellent. If your family can afford all 14 of those application fees, that's great. If that's going to cost too much, go through each school and ask yourself if you would have a good experience in your four years there. If not, than cut it out and save yourself the time and cost. Be sure you have a safety where you could have a good experience.

Thanks for the replies.

Aside from app fees, which we have enough money for, I am happy with my list. It is definitely long and "top heavy" but I wouldn't want to later on think "what if .."

btw.. i cut Tufts.. great school but their student body stereotype was not my type

Unless your are a URM or your ECs are off the charts, your list looks incredibly top heavy to me.

In reality, your list is the two SUNY schools, Lehigh, and Penn State.

Thanks for your honesty.

Btw- no chance at NYU, Michigan?.. i was told i have a chance
even Gtown I am somewhat within range

Btw, does anyone know which one of these schools does not accept Jan scores?

Thanks

You do have a chance at NYU, Michigan, but Gtown is very iffy, same with Nwestern.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Iffy is fine. :)

Cornell-reach

Penn-reach
Northwestern-reach
SUNY Binghamton-saftey/match
SUNY Albany-saftey/match
UMich-low reach
Penn State-match/saftey
Columbia-reach
Georgetown-reach
Tufts-reach
Duke-reach
NYU-high match/low reach

Good luck.

lol.. you couldn't say that Albany was simply a safety?
Thanks guys

agree w/ ihdc

Might look at Holy Cross-SAT optional

sorry mikeB, lol. I'm not too familiar with the SUNY system, but I know they're not too difficult to get into, espescially for NYers. I'm sure with your stats you'll get into a state school pretty easily.

I didn't quite catch what state you were from, or if you were a URM or if you had any hooks. That'd make it easier for us to chance you.

i think you are fine, if you have a safety school that you would enjoy going to- apply all you want to reach schools! If you don't mind the extra work and the extra fees, then all the power to you. Just make sure that you have a school as a backdrop just in case you do not get into one of those reaches. If you have been accepted somewhere, then that is even better. I think your list is perfectly fine, there is nothing wrong at all with being ambitious.

That is exactly my mindset.

Cornell-reach
Harvard-reach
Penn-reach
Northwestern-match/could be a reach
SUNY Binghamton-saftey
SUNY Albany-saftey
UMich-match
Penn State-saftey

your 2000 sat score probably won't get a second glance at any of your ivy choices, unless you've got some amazing hooks.
