what do you think? you think i'll have a good percentages of acceptances and maybe decent aid? thanks.

i think your reach schools are more like match schools. you have a great chance at syracuse, if you wrote good essays im sure you'd be in...and lots of aps thats good. also, i think you'd get good merit based aid at your match schools and DEFINITLY good merit aid at your safeties. good luck!

I think you have a reasonable list from an admissions perspective - increasing your SAT will help with both admissions and money, so I think its worth the time and misery. Be sure that you review the grammer for the writing section - and have a plan with the essay!

Do you have to submit a portfolio for the desing programs or is it strictly academics/ec's?

I agree with ohio-mom. It seems like you have a done a great job researching and assessing your potential admissions based on your statistics. I think your list realistic and a good one. If you can bring your SAT scores up by 50 points you'll be in even better position. Good luck!

thanks guys. my goal for the SAT is a 1250 which i think i can get. (650 M and 600 V). i'm taking it again in oct and one more in nov.

the reason i don't really have a reach because i don't think i really need a reach. i did want to apply to cornell (hence, my screen name, lol), but with my stats i feel like i won't get in anyway. and plus, cornell is more than 40k. i'm not sure how i would pay for that if i got in. don't they give mostly loans? so i'm not sure if applying to cornell is worth the effort. what do you guys think?

and yes, about half the schools require a portfolio. i should be working on that this weekend. thanks again.

If you would be applying to the College of Human Ecology at Cornell, your porfolio will be considered as well as your stats. So - it would be a longshot - but if you meet your SAT goal it might be worth it. If you don't apply you certainly will not be admitted.

Your folks need to use an EFC calculator to see what sort of needs-based assistance you could receive. No use guessing - just run the numbers.

Wannagotocornell, I think that you have good shots at all of the schools on your list. I personally think that you could probably change your list a bit, because your reaches don't seem to be reaches but more or less safeties/matches. You should add Cornell to your list, and one or 2 other national universities like U of Chicago, Brown, or Dartmouth. Maybe you could add a few liberal arts colleges to your list, such as Amherst, Swarthmore, Bowdoin, Wesleyan, etc.

haahaha 1180 ur not getting into Cornell what kind of site is this..you guys are all morons...i dont think i have met a person here below a 1380
