Is my list too risky?

I sent you a PM but you never responded

You might want to move Duke up on your list. Like U Va, it's in the south, but it was rated by a black educational group as the best place for black students to get an education. I do't have the reference, but, with your sat's, it's googleable within 5 minutes.

Thanks

Hmm, last year when I was searching the board for threads by people like me I kept getting annoyed because kids would make chance threads and then never update the threads with which schools they got into.

Here's the final list of schools I applied to:
Yale (EA)- accepted
Harvard -accepted
UVA - selected as a finalist for Jerome Holland Scholarship (20,000 a yr)
Georgetown -withdrew app
Duke - selected as a finalist for Reginaldo Howard Scholarship (full scholarship)
Emory -selected as finalist for full scholarship
William and Mary - withdrew
U of Delaware -withdrew
Brandeis- withdrew

My parents have always wanted me to go to an Ivy League college and are willing to pay full price for it, so they didn't let me miss school and my other ECs to pretty much go on vacation while competing for the scholarships at Duke, Emory and UVa.

If my update helps any class of '11ers, I'll be happy. As you can tell by earlier posts in this thread, I was really worried about getting in anywhere up until about December 16th. If you're an impressive URM candidate, you'll have ton of great choices available come March. Plus, you can save a good amount on application fees by trimming some redundant safeties and matches.
