Is my profile eligible for undergraduate in Duke University

GPA:3.64
SAT I: reading 720 writing 740 math 740
SAT II: chemistry-630 Math-710
AP US history: 3(out of 5)
I also have legacy; my sister is a senior in Duke

I’d say it’s a mid-high reach without any other hook.

Yes, although your GPA is a bit on the lower end.

SAT is good but GPA (weighted? unweighted? Rigor of schedule?) could do you in.

High reach because of the GPA (assuming it’s unweighted - if it’s weighted, you have essentially no chance whatsoever). Your SAT I is fine. The SAT IIs are questionable. To really evaluate whether you have a shot, I’d need to see the subjective information and the rigor of your schedule.

As for legacy, are you saying that you’re legacy and have a sister there or that you’re legacy because you have a sister there? Having a sibling at a school is usually not much of an advantage and is generally not considered legacy status (siblings don’t yet have much money to throw at them).

Even if your parents are on welfare, if one is a graduate you are a “legacy” and advantaged regardless of their “lacking money to throw at them”. RedSeven is correct in saying that a sibling at the schools does nothing for you unless a particular college tells you otherwise. As for your original question, I would say high reach based on GPA.

It’s always good to go to the source.

"What is a legacy student? Does Duke consider legacy in the application process?

A legacy student is an applicant who has grandparents, parents, or siblings who have attended or are attending Duke. Duke does take legacy status into consideration when evaluating applications, but it will not make or break any individual application."

Aside from that, RedSeven nailed it. Good luck.

Is the 3.64 weighted or unweighted.

unweighted

You should apply. You have a chance!!

You should raise your SAT.

Also, it depends on how strong your ECs are. If you don’t have very good ones, you’ll probably be out.

thanks for all the comments!
btw I am taking AP Calculus and AP Chemistry this year…
Does the AP classes that I am taking in my senior year count in admission process for early decision?

For an answer to Red Seven, I have a legacy because my sister is now a senior in Duke

I also have an additional question; are those SAT II subject test scores truly differentiating factors?

How many AP’s are available at your school?

well, last year, available AP’s for Juniors were only two while this year provides 4 AP’s to Juniors

For seniors, 6 were available last year and 7 are available this year.

You won’t get into Duke with a 3.6 GPA, Duke is a top 10 university and has thousands of applicants with 4.0 averages they can accept.
