So my first test score was 2160 (CR-690 W-690 M-780) and I took it again, which didn't turn out so well. I took it a third time and got a 2270 (CR-750 W-790 M-730). I know my superscore is a 2320, but I really want a good chance in getting in the ivies. I have never been great at the SATs and I feel like it really is holding me back a little. Should I retake it in October? And the ivy leagues only look at superscore right? So they won't care how many times I took it?

Ivies don’t just look at SAT scores, but essay, GPA, extra-curriculars, talents, etc.
There are numerous/MANY applicants who get 2400s and yet they don’t get accepted.

Your SAT scores are fine… I don’t know about the other things, but yeah don’t retake, but if you think you can get a 2400 then I’d say go for it, but why waste your time?

I would kill to have your scores.

2160 is damn good. Once you crack 2100, the admissions know you are plenty smart. So it doesn’t matter that much between a 2160 and 2300. Sure, it might sound better, but that doesn’t mean they will OFFER something that the university wants.

It now boils down to course rigor, extra-curriculars, and your personal statement.

honestly heres the deal
ivies will just look to see if you are in their range of scores (which you are)
after that its up to everything else…and even if you have everything else its always a toss up

If ur superscore is a 2320 then u shouldnt worry much unless u want a 2400. Thats the only true difference. There is no real difference afterwards.

@vinny420 Yep. Applying to the Ivy League is like playing Russian Roulette.
