I took the SAT in January and got 700 in Critical Reading, 710 in Math, and 780 in Writing. (2190 total)
If I want to apply to schools such as Harvard, Yale, and Columbia, should I take the SAT again, or should my score be high enough?

I have a strong extra-curriculars, awards, leadership, and service, as well as a 4.0 GPA (unweighted). And I take all the AP classes my school offers (which is not many) and some college courses independently.

More than 25% of H and Y’s class has 790 or over in each SAT section. Columbia is close. That’s most unhooked candidates. Having far below even the median, much less the 75th percentile, in both CR and math will not fly without something truly exceptional like being a star quarterback.

Okay, thanks for the input.
So would you say around a 2300 is high enough?

A 2300 makes you a more serious candidate, but you have to keep in mind these schools accept under 10% and half of those accepyed have hooks. So getting in takes so much more than strong stats. So shoot for the 2300 but also expand the list to include schools that are excellent but accept 15% plus as realistic reaches.
