<p>I intend to get all As in the Midyear Report (when only 1 grade shows up for each class), but I got a C for the first time now, in my Secondary School report. It was a 79 in an AP class. If this is a only-time-only thing, is that still really bad?? BTW I'm a senior who is applying to some Ivies :) My overall GPA and class rank are OK, though, it's just this C I'm worried about.</p>
<p>Are you sure you’re going to end up with a C as your first semester grade? Most high schools don’t end the first semester until December. Even if you are, I doubt it will greatly affect your chances. There was a pretty well-known poster here who got a C+ in his AP Calculus BC class 1st semester and he still got into Yale.</p>
