Is my senior year schedule rigorous enough?

Hi, everyone! I’m going into senior year and I am nervous that my senior year schedule isn’t rigorous enough. I just found my schedule out. I don’t know if that is normal, but my at my school you don’t find out your schedule till a week or so in advance and nearly everyone who takes APs has conflicts. The school really schedules everything for you, you just get to request classes, and if they can’t get you in, they decide which class(es) to drop and you find out when you get your schedule in the end of summer lol. But, I don’t mean to sound rude, and maybe that’s the norm? Plus, luckily, that didn’t happen to me completely because the administrators are really caring and one of my teachers really wants me (and everyone  ) in her class.

So anyway here’s my schedule:
AP Chem
AP Spanish
AP European History
AP Calc AB
Ceramics (both semesters)
Intro to Fictitious Works through nearby state univ but it’s online (I already took AP Lang & AP Lit)

So anyway, even though I have 4 APs and a college course, I have a study hall, a lunch, and an extra study hall every other day (because of AP Chem-- it meets everyday one period and every other day the next period).
Also, I haven’t taken physics at any level. I wanted to, but it just doesn’t work with my schedule even if I were to drop chem.

So anyway, do you think it is rigorous enough? Also, I can take a physics course at the state univ, but I would prefer not to take it this semester since I’ll be so busy with applying to colleges and class alone would take 6 hours out of my week and I would probably need to do a lot of studying. So should I plan to take it spring semester and have my gc say that I will?
Thanks in advance!

I think overall your schedule is definitely rigorous enough (However, that is just my opinion, I’m not sure if other more experienced posters might disagree with me).

As to whether you should take physics, I think covering all of the three “core” sciences (bio, chemistry, physics) in high school is a good idea. In my opinion, you should take physics in spring semester, when you aren’t as stressed with college applications. However, if you were to decide not to take it at some point before it started, you would need to tell colleges that you have dropped this class (like an update to your app).

I agree: take a 'physics for humanities majors’class spring semester at the local college. You’ll report it on your list of classes and be fine.
Have you completed level 3 or 4 of a foreign language?

Thank you both!!
@MYOS1634 Yes, this upcoming year will be my 5th year of high school Spanish if you include the high school Spanish class I took in 8th grade (which shows up on transcripts).
@yonceonhismouth @MYOS1634 The college I am taking a couple classes at doesn’t allow you to sign up for spring semester classes until later so it won’t show up on any transcript or anything as a class I will be taking (and I’m applying for a competitive scholarship that is due in Sept), but should I have my guidance counselor write in her rec that I will be taking one in spring or is that not the place to explain?

Btw, I am almost certain they will have a physics class I can attend as they always have online classes and at least one in the evening (meaning it won’t conflict with my schedule at my high school).

It looks good to me – but the person whose opinion matters is that of your guidance counselor. Check with him/her to see if your schedule is strong enough for him/her to check that you have taken the most rigorous schedule available at your HS on your application.

Yes, your gc should include it, and you’ll self report on common app and coalition app.
You can relax, You’re good!

Thanks, @happy1 @MYOS1634 . I’ll ask my gc once school starts, but it’s a relief that you guys think it looks rigorous enough!
