Is my Senior Year schedule too easy?

I want to get into a few top schools, like Rice, Northwestern, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, and some other private schools that give a lot of merit aid, like Pepperdine. Anyways, I've had A's in all honors classes freshman and sophomore year but this year (junior) I have 4 AP's and 2 honors classes and it looks like I'm going to end up with mostly B's :( (my school doesn't allow AP's until junior year) I want an easy senior year, but I don't want to make myself look worse than I already do, especially since many kids are taking 4/5 AP's senior year. This is the schedule I want:

AP IPLE (basically gov)
AP Spanish Lang
AP Stat (already took Calc BC)
AP English 2
Anatomy Honors
Human Growth and Development
Interior Decorating, Chef's Lab (electives are required)
PE (required)

Of course, I could take AP chem or AP physics (already took chem honors, honors bio, and AP Bio, and honors physics) and Calc 3 for math but those classes are all insanely difficult and I don't want that. Will not having an AP science or calc my senior year affect me that badly? I know for a fact I can get straight A's with the schedule I just listed. Any advice is appreciated.

You’ll be fine. More than fine really, don’t worry about it.
I’m taking four AP’s this year and only took one last year.
Kids that obsess over taking like, ALL of the ap classes, are crazy and it’s unnecessary.
As long as you have good grades in your last three years, maintain even an “average” gpa your senior year, have excellent EC’s and such, you’ll be a strong competitor. (Schools like Hopkins, Cornell, etc look for more than just how many ap classes you can stack up – all kids that go to schools like that take AP classes… it’s the norm)
Four AP’s will not make you look bad at all!

oh-- based on your username… try and contact fh coaches at those schools. or try to get scouted.

Thanks. Yeah I’m really not interesting in dying next year plus I need a job. And I’m not really interested in playing sports in college lol but I think the rest of my app will be pretty strong.

I think your schedule sounds great and very doable!!

You have a major uphill battle at the schools you list and good big merit aid schools with all Bs junior year. I would do anything in tour power to show success in rigorous classes next year.

Its a great schedule, no need to worry. Are your scores, essays, and extracurriculars in check?

You call that easy?
And it shouldn’t matter if your schedule is too easy or too hard. Just that YOU can do it.

waverly: Is it really that bad?? And that’s why I don’t want my schedule to be too easy…I don’t want it to look like I slacked off or something. But just so you know, I go to a really competitive public school (750 in each class, about 50 accepted to ivies!) and even with the B’s i’m still in the top 5%.

chandra: I have lots of EC’s and volunteering. SAT and subject tests are pending lol

So I guess its best to keep the schedule I have now so I can get straight A’s? I’m pretty confident the rest of my app will be good.
