I plan to major in the education sector (history, science, idk quite yet) or even possibly in the financial sector. Let me know what your thoughts are, they are greatly appreciated.
+AP Calculus BC
+AP European History (is AP Stats a better choice? I heard some iffy things about that class in terms of it being a waste of time)
+AP English
+AP Economics
+Financial Management
+Accounting I
Is it manageable? Could I even add AP Stats without killing myself? It’s senior year, and I actually want to learn (idc about senioritis…my work ethic isn’t that crappy), but I don’t want to be buried in my books for 10 hours a day.
My counselors always told me that it is about 1 hr per night per AP class. That’s probably accurate. Make sure you have enough time to fulfill all your responsibilities. Experiencing high school (although not screwing off) is important too! If you don’t mind me asking, what college classes have you already taken and why do you want to take the ones listed in your post?
When a daughter took AP Euro it was the hardest A- that I have ever seen in my life. Definitely plan to spend many hours every night on AP Euro if you keep it on your schedule.
Remember that applying to universities, visiting universities, and so on will essentially be as much work at another AP class.
17arichards - I’ve taken: AP US History, AP US Gov, AP Chem, AP Physics B, AP Calculus AB, AP World History.
I want to take these classes because as I said, I plan to go into the education sector or possibly the financial sector. I gotta say, I’m pretty well rounded, and I want senior year to end off with a bang essentially. Education is something I take pretty seriously, so “senioritis” isn’t something I view as an acceptable excuse to not do work.
*Btw, all those classes I had A averages.
Euro is almost the exact same structure and workload as apush, so I think you can handle it. But the AP test was harder than US imo.
Calc bc is all of AB just in half the time, but 2nd sem is when it starts to pick up the pace. It’s also my fault bc I took the class easy all 1 sem since I knew it already, but 2nd sem was a lot of extra studying that I wasn’t used to…
I’m guessing English is Lang? That class has difficult work during the school day, but it normally doesn’t give too much hw.
Depending on how fast you work, your schedule may take 2-5 hours/night, so see how that can fit in your schedule. If you procrastinate like I do, be prepared for less sleep…
The APs you’ve taken previously are mostly at the same level, so I don’t think you’ll have trouble keeping A’s
