I have a 710 in math 1, 710 in math 2, and 680 in chemistry. Assuming I have a killer essay and great recs (from chem teacher and math teacher), and good sat 1 scores & gpa, would my subject test scores hinder me? I also did my interview pretty well. I am applying ED for engineering.

Not sure, I’m in the same boat as you. 740 math 2 650 physics. Whats your sat 1/gpa? Its all about context. I’d say anything above 700 is decent. Your scores and mine probably arent deal breakers though.

2150, 3.7 uw, 4.8 w, top 10% of class. It may be a little low?

2150 is great, wayy better than me. I think you’re good

Ur fine don’t sweat it.

I thought JHU didn’t really care all THAT much about subject tests? Which is kind of disappointing actually… 770 US History and 740 Lit, but those are the humanities so idk if Hopkins even wanted to see those :/

Hopkins has an (incorrect) rep for being a science-only school. In reality it’s very strong in all areas, especially the humanities - it has one of the best writing seminar programs in the country and likes to see students pursuing all types of fields at college, so it’s incredibly incorrect to say that it wouldn’t care about humanities tests.

Don’t worry too much. I got in with a 2160, 3.95 uw, 4.6w and I know people who got in with lower scores in all the categories. Focus on getting great recs and write some killer essays that tie in with your application (for example, after reading my essays, one would almost completely understand why I was involved with each of the activities and clubs I listed). Let your passion come out. If you aren’t passionate, you aren’t getting in.

Thanks guys, i’ve submitted my ED app and now I wait!
