Is my transcript bad?

Posted this in another section, but I thinkyou guys can give me a better answer.

Im super worried about my grades. Are they really bad for top school like the Ivies?

Freshman:

H. Bio-90
H.Geo-90
H. English-98
H. Spanish 3-91
Japanese 1-94
H. History-96
Gym-100

Sophomore (this is where it gets bad, had serious medical problems, missed school, etc):

H. Chem-89 (this is one grade ahead of regular science sequence at school)
Algebra II-80
H. English-91
H. US-95
Japanese II-91
Journalism-92
Gym-100

Junior: (school cancelled japanese III)

H. US II-95
AP Language-94 (prob 5 on test)
H. Physics-94

Gym-100

Senior Year

Sociology 101 (college)

How is the transcript? My SAT is decent, 2300, but how bad are my grades? My school doesn't rank, and in most core classes, only 1-2 people get over a 90.

Pretty bad, but I think that your 100s in Gym should make up for them.

Chance at the ivies? L0L, You’ll be GODLY lucky if you get waitlisted at Devry.

You are not taking the most rigorous curriculum your school has to offer and that will be a minus.
Take AP Calculus BC.
What do you plan to major in?

Yea you’re transcript is just fine. One or two Bs will do little/if anything to your chances.

In all seriousness
No, It won’t. But please stop calling your SAT score “dECENT”
It’s people like you who ivies DON’T want.

People with A c or 2 have been admitted to Harvard.
And no, they weren’t URMS

Ok, thanks. Just some of the people on CC have like perfect GPA’s, and I wonder how I can even compete with them.

Oh, and not sure of my major, probably poly sci/ir, but premed track.

Bad?! not at all! @harryjones and @madogmgd are just crazy …
that’s a great transcript and a great SAT score

You’re grades are not bad at all. They are good. I can see that you kind of slipped a bit in sophomore year, but colleges only see the letter grades, not percentages. And your SAT score is great! You have a chance at Ivies as long as you have some volunteer work, extracurricular activities/sports, a good essay, etc. If your guidance counselor can check most rigorous and you have all of the above, you should be fine.

… you took gym three years? I’m going to assume that’s a requirement, or else I’d have to question why you wouldn’t fill that spot with an actual class. 2300 SAT is not decent - it’s pretty fantastic. AP Calc wouldn’t hurt.

ECs are probably going to be what it comes down to, really. And essays. So make sure those are as good as you can make them.

Yea, gym is required all four yrs, forgot to put it. The problem is my school only sends number grades, so it looks a lot worse than it is, i guess. my ec’s are very strong, probably stronger than my “academics”. so this transcript wont keep me out of top schools?

oh, and my gc is writing a note about the medical problems, bc i missed a LOT of school.

If you want to be safe with the ivies, win something international, or at least national. End of story.

If your SAT score is decent… mine must be burnt cookies.
And NO, your transcript is not bad… -_-"

published in a peer review journal good enough? haha

bumping this.

What are your extracurricular activities?

Getting 3 Bs is not a problem at all. Chill out and focus on extracirriculars

Sent from my iPhone using CC

That transcript just makes me depressed. And a 2300 SAT . . .

well i probs just got like a 600 math ii…soo yea
