or are numbers a no-no? I know it's not ok to have something like "sexxibabe69@hotmail.com" but does it need to be a simple your-name address? everything about my name is taken on all the major services

lmao this is a first.... someone asking if their emails are alright. People getting really!!!! insecure these days. Well yea, 'sexxibabe69@hotmail.com' is bad... but the one you showed should be fine. I mean, if it is a common name, i suppose they don't expect you put be able to use that. Did you try a short version. Let's say your name is Simon Cowell lol. try like 'simon.c@hotmail.com' ... get my drift? hope that helps !

I used the email account with my current username, and no one seemed to have any problem with it despite the fact that it's long and makes no English sense. So I don't think numbers would be a problem.

I think it's fine to add numbers when you have a common name ("John Smith"), which seems to be your problem. I know several people who have done that.
