is ND a safety?

<p>Sorry if that was an obnoxious title. I thought ND was going to be a good safety school, but reading CC has really freaked me out.
I'm new to the application process, so I'm open to any comments :)</p>

<p>Born in Siena, Italy.
Moved to Aix-en-Provence, France in 2000.
Moved to LA in 2007. (moving for my dad's work)
Fluent in French, Italian, and English. Proficient in Spanish.
First generation American and college student</p>

<li>In 2009 founded an NPO to help the Eden Orphanage in Haiti. Organization has become increasingly important since the earthquake/ cholera epidemic. Funding to rebuild school/ general aid comes from the Red Cross and UNICEF. The issue is close to me because I have extended relatives in Haiti. </li>
<li>founded Classics Club and French Club at my school</li>
<li>Model United Nations; President</li>
<li>NHS</li>
<li>Los Angeles Classical Club- I organize museum events</li>
<li>Eucharistic Minister at local church</li>

National Latin Exam- 4 gold medals
Medusa Mythology Exam- 3 gold medals
Model UN- 2 National Awards; 3 State Awards
Soccer- MVP past 3 years; state ranked top 25 in 2009 season (2010 season results not released)</p>

<p>Essays: Common App essay is about my experience fouding NPO and my visit to the orphanage in 2008 that inspired me to do something
The activity essay is about Model UN and how my involvement has helped me realize what I want to do in life: work as a diplomat for the UN. </p>

<p>usually I hate to say anyone is a lock, but you are as close as one would come…ND would be lucky to have you as a student…just from reading a little bit of your biography, you are very impressive young adult and you have done great things for so many people…you are truly a remarkable person and ND would be blessed to have someone with your abilities…</p>

<p>but back to your question, I would seriously be shocked if you didn’t get into to Notre Dame…</p>

Due to my Hoosier background, though, I have a strong, emotional and personal connection to ND and talked about it in all 3 of my short answers. I think it was evident that I loved Indy and ND.</p>

<p>A 1510 and 3.6 and great EC’s will probally get you in, but I would not go as far as a safety. Stranger things have happened, and I would be safe to apply to a lesser school.</p>

<p>That said, I would be really surprised if you didn’t get in.</p>

<p>You should have applied early then been able to truly consider it a safety without any second guesses.</p>

<p>Your credentials are GREAT, but I wouldn’t call it a safety. The valedictorian of my class has amazing everything and was rejected there.</p>

<p>I agree with most other people on this thread you are clearly amazing but at the same time ND admissions are hard enough that no one is really in for sure. I think you might consider applying to a few real safeties, just to be sure. Good luck!</p>
