Is North Campus really THAT bad?

Ok, I have heard a lot of rumors that North Campus is known for being really lame and all the parties are on South Campus. Is it as bad as everyone says it is?

People who live on South Campus diss every other part of campus; they're just being dumb. South is more party-centered, though. I personally don't like North because it seems really crowded, but if you aren't already I'd make sure you're speaking to people who live on North Campus.

My daughter is a freshman and she lives on North campus. She chose to live there because it is closer to most of her classes. She also said it's true that South campus is known for more parties, but how often do you go to class as opposed to parties? She prefers daily convenience. Just because you live on North campus doesn't mean you can't go to parties on South campus.

Honestly - the campus isn't so large that getting to class from any of the dorms will be a serious inconvenience... I would choose a dorm based on what layout appeals to you the most.

North Campus has air conditioning, some of the preferable dorms, and is quieter, especially at night. Parties are more common in south campus, but also in off campus housing at the fraternities. I don't think there is a substantial difference in how often you party as decided by where you live.

My friend's son says there are plenty of parties, etc., on North Campus but that South Campus is loud all the time, even when you want a break. Easier to study or sleep on North Campus.

ok there are parties at houses on both sides of campus. dorms dont lend themselves to partying so its the off campus partying people are talking about. there are plenty of parties on north too. i lived on north for 2 years, better dorms with ac and their own bathrooms are way better than the dorms on south.

The biggest things about South Campus is that people are more social and will always have their doors open, on North from what I ve seen, not so much. So if you are big on meeting a ton of ppl in your first year highly recommend South, but if you would like to get some work done and only make a few close friends then North would be for you. North=more upperclassmen, South=mostly freshmen. Distances to classes doesn't matter too much, you will get used to the walk anywhere.

Frosh applied for north...oh man...

well, I did apply to Bradley...

Wherever you are, just make an effort to keep your door open and meet your floormates.

I was on west and my whole floor knew each other and hung out to some degree, because we made an attempt during the first weeks of school. Some other floors always had their doors closed and no one knew one another.

This is an interesting thread...my son LOVED North Campus...and said if he weren't moving into his fraternity, he'd live there again.

All of his friends who lived on South campus last year are moving to north campus for next year.

What was it they liked so much about it?

TRUST ME.

People living in NORTH campus and SOUTH campus are NO DIFFERENT.
It's just that there are more FRESHMEN living in the SOUTH, so it "APPEARS" as if south dorms are more "SOCIAL", meaning they enjoy going to parties.

On the other hand, since more UPPER CLASSMEN live in NORTH dorms, it "APPEARS" as if they are more "ANTI-SOCIAL" because they are more focused on school than on partying.
