Is Notre Dame excessively homogenous?

I am a senior in high school and i am currently applying to college. Currently my top choice is Notre Dame. Except I have heard that Notre Dame is excessively white, catholic, and close minded (I am not trying to be offensive this is just what I have heard). I want to know what other people think and if what I have heard is wrong. I am catholic and hispanic (born in the U.S to immigrant parents). I am scared that the people at Notre Dame will be very closed minded. I would love to hear what you all think? Also how are the parties? Someone told me Notre Dame was a "dry campus" is that true? Also how are parietals? Thanks!

ND is getting more diverse every year. People here are very friendly and accepting. I think a lot of people mistake the political/religious views of the administration as those of the students as we’ll, which isn’t always the case.

Notre Dame definitely isn’t a “dry” campus. There are always dorm parties, or there’re house parties off campus. I’m not really a parties, but there’s always stuff to do around here.

Nobody likes parietals, but it’s really only an issue for parties. You can still hang out with members of the opposite sex after parietal hours, just not in your room.

Let me just say this: ND is a great school, but it’s not the “typical” college experience. Some some it’s worse, more say its better. I’d recommends end an overnight campus visit so you can decide who you agree with. Best of luck!
