Is NU known for Medical and Engineering? And Chance me ED please!

<p>Hi guys, I have a question for NU; is it strong in Premed and Engineering direction?</p>

<p>Also, could you guys chance me for ED? It's my first choice school.</p>

<p>School: Private Prep school (LOADS OF FINANCIAL AID...)
Ethnic: Asian, foreign citizenship (been 6 years in U.S.)
Hook: very ill mom during freshmen-> sophomore year, low income (<45000), only child, immigrant, no citizenship, no asian population in my school (just me and 2 other), first generation to go to a college in U.S.
ACT: Waiting for score
SAT: 2140 (660 R, 800 M, 680 GR)
UW GPA: 3.87 (I got 3.71 in Sophomore year because of health issues with my mom and family problems.)
W GPA: School doesnt weight

- Microsoft Math/Science competition 3rd in state</p>

<p>NU engineering is pretty solid. For undergrads, it got a well-developed co-op program and unique first-year curriculum. As far as graduate rankings go, here are the the upper-end of their NRC “R” rankings:</p>

Chemcial 8
Biomedical 10
Electrical 20</p>

<p>The NRC rankings are actually presented as ranges but the upper end of the range is almost equivalent to the normal rankings we are used to seeing.</p>

<p>NU is a great school overall and is pretty strong across many disciplines - Arts, and the Sciences. The graduate school rankings in any subject area doesn’t really matter for Undergrad specialization. What really matters is what you get out of your four years of undergrad and NU offers one of the best experience among the top quality schools.</p>
