Is NYU Feasible?

<p>Hello! Can you please tell me if I have a good shot at getting into NYU CAS for English? I've recently come to the conclusion that I don't think I would be happy on a smaller, seriously dedicated campus - I need something that feels like it's a part of the city, where I can have many new opportunities and experiences. </p>

<p>I'm going to major in English (as a pre-law) and minor in French and plan to attend law school at NYU anyway. I think the atmosphere for both English (so many authors and great minds all around me) and law in NYC would be extremely beneficial. </p>

<p>Final Question: I would probably be applying RD. Is that a good decision?</p>

<p>Yes, but do not expect much if any scholarships. They are really scaling back on that due to high volume of full pay applicants.
So, I would also say apply and wait for the outcomes. In addition, add USC, and Carnegie to your list, you might get lucky, ie if you like the schools.

<p>Everything is good for NYU except your ACT score. Use one of their alternate testing options and it’s a match for you.</p>

<p>Your chances look pretty good. NYU is never a sure thing, but being outside of the greater NYC area, good grades and within the norm test scores, it’s a match which means a 40-60% chance of acceptance for you, IMO. </p>

<p>Duke is not a low match at all, it is a high match/low reach if you go ED. You have a great chance if you go ED because legacy matters a lot in ED, RD it has close to no effect. NYU is a match
