Is NYU Stern worth the extra money?

I recently got into Stern, and now it's making me double think going to UMich LSA (I probably won't get into ROSS pre-admit, but if I do well, I can get in during my soph year). The thing is, with Stern, it would be an automatic entrance into the business school, while if I go to UMich, that's no guarentee that I'll get in (47% accept rate for college freshman getting into ROSS, and avg GPA of a 3.6 in frosh year).

The problem is, UMich is in-state for me, which means it'll cost 18k for my parents/me. On the other hand, our EFC is 27k, and NYU costs like 45k. So doing some rough estimates on my financial aid package, it would mean about 14k in work study / loans per year, with like maybe 5k in grants if I'm lucky.

So the question I present to you guys is, is it worth the extra 9k per year, on top of the fact I'll probalby have about 14k in work study/loans per year to go to NYU Stern over UMich?

I'm guessing no, but I figured I wanted to see some other people's opinions before I start to hit myself over the head (didn't even apply for FA at NYU, cause I didn't think I was going to get into Stern in the first place, and at the time I figured it would make absolutely no sense to pay all the extra $ to go there). I'm regretting not even applying for FA, so knowing that my initial thoughts/decision were right will make me feel better cause it's killing me not knowing whether it woulda been possible to go to NYU :P

Forgot to mention, I do realize I still can apply for FA (even though "funds are increasingly limited"). Now that I think about it, I actually do think I sent my FAFSA to NYU...

EDIT: Ok just checked and I did sent my FAFSA after all. That makes me feel a little better haha

nyu is terrible w/ financial aid! but you can always take loans... tons of loans (at least that's what i'm gonna do :P).

if you didn't apply to FA then you wont get any work study from nyu or loans (from nyu). this is the same dilenma i am in except i got a full ride to my state school, umd, so i have even more of a temptation to go to umd but my dream school is nyu.
